PROFESSIONAL, CERTIFIED TRAININGHaving a well trained dog that is in tune to your commands makes for a wonderful companion. At Badlands K-9, dogs are kept on site for 21 days and trained one on one multiple times a day in short, positive sessions to teach them the commands every dog should know.
At the end of these 21 days, you will have a session with your dog and me, the trainer, where I show you what your dog has learned and how to make your dog respond to these commands. Many common behavior problems can be fixed by teaching your dog to listen and respond to simple commands. |

In order for our residency program to be successful, it is imperative for the owner(s) to work at home to change patterns and behaviors as instructed. Your willingness to incorporate the obedience commands into every day life is crucial for long term success. The time and energy you invest will determine how much you and your dog are able to accomplish. Training does not end when your dog leaves our facility. It is an ongoing effort that strengthens the more time and effort you put into it. We get you started and give you and your dog the tools and basics to get started on the path to a positive working relationship.

During this program, your dog will stay in residence at Badlands K-9 for 21 full days. The training program may be extended an additional 2 days if necessary. During this time, Badlands K-9 will teach your dog the following on leash commands:
- Heel With Automatic Sit
- Sit At Your Side
- Down At Your Side
- Come
- Built In Stay
- Wait
You, the owner(s) will be given a thorough lesson on these commands on the day you pick up your dog.
This on leash program is designed to establish dog and owner communications and give you on leash control. Upon completion of this program, your dog will be able to walk on a leash, to sit, and lay down patiently at your left side. During your go home lesson you will be taught proper leash handling and given insight into particular behavior patterns and problems. Your follow up session must be completed within 14 days after the final date of residency training. A properly sized training collar and a standard training leash are also included with this program.
You are required to provide food for your dogs' stay. Bedding, toys, and treats are optional. Please read the boarding section of our website for more information. All vaccination required for boarding are also required for training, and proof of vaccination is needed.
